PFAS source zones present a difficult remediation challenge because impacted soil can continue to act as a long-term source to groundwater and may require a strategy that limits mobility while supporting future site use. This webinar will focus on how in situ stabilization/solidification (ISS) can be applied to PFAS source zone remediation by mixing amendments directly into impacted soil to create a more stable, lower-permeability treatment mass. Attendees will learn how ISS design decisions, including treatability testing, amendment selection, mixing method, quality control, and sequencing, influence remedy performance and constructability. The session will also introduce potential GeoSierra trenchless permeable reactive barrier (PRB) applications in theory, including how trenchless delivery concepts may complement source zone or downgradient control strategies where access, depth, or surface disruption are limiting factors.
