ISS to Sixty Feet Below Ground Surface at Former Industrial Manufacturing Site

In Situ Stabilization

Prior to the in situ stabilization (ISS) approach, the remediation areas required extensive preparation involving the removal of subsurface piping, utilities, deep piling, monitoring wells, surficial and underground reinforced concrete structures as part of the previous manufacturing facility at the site.

  • A massive in-situ stabilization project, treating a staggering 63,000 cubic yards of dowTHERM-contaminated soil to depths of up to 60 feet below ground surface.
  • Encountering dense, cemented soil layers, Cascade developed unique tooling to ensure effective deep soil mixing.
